IVOA Meeting

The meeting of the International Virtual Observatory Alliance (IVOA) will take place November 8-10, 2018 in College Park, MD. Details about location and registration information will be posted when available.

 Hackathon

We will host a Hackathon on Time Domain Astronomy on November 10-11, 2018. This is a community event, drawing people from a wide range from highschool, college and professionals, which can form teams and with domain experts come up with their own view of Time Domain Astronomy. We also expect to award prizes, as we will have special sponsors for this event. Details about location and registration information will be posted when available.

 ADASS Tutorials

ADASS Tutorials are educational sessions conducted as a short class on a subject of general interest. The main goal of a Tutorial is to teach skills to participants. Attendance is free for registrants of the conference and $50 for non-registrants if space available (to be paid on-site). Tutorials take place on the afternoon of Sunday, November 11.

 Welcome Reception

A welcome cocktail reception will occur Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in The Hotel. More details will be posted when available.

 Conference Banquet

The conference banquet will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2018, on the roof of The Hotel. More details will be posted when available.

 Other

Campus always hosts a large number of events: academic, cultural and sports/entertainment, that might be of interest to some ADASS participants. Check out the Clarice Smith Center cultural program, and perhaps of note is that on November 17 the local football team will host Ohio State in the Big-10 league.
